The 31st Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (31st MIF), the 2026 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao) (2026PLPEX) and Macao Franchise Expo 2026 (2026MFE) will be held concurrently at Cotai Expo, The Venetian Macao from 21 to 24 October (Wednesday to Saturday), under the shared theme “Macao: The Global Hub of Business Convergence”. The Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) today (15 October) held a press conference to present the latest preparations and highlights of the three exhibitions.
Covering a total area of 30,000 square metres, the three exhibitions will bring together about 1,000 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and regions, and invite over 1,500 international buyers. The exhibition content fully covers Macao’s “1+4” key industries, spanning technological innovation, Big Health, economic and trade investment, agriculture, the blue economy, cross-border e-commerce, professional services and IP brands, helping visitors grasp industry trends and business opportunities in one stop. More than 90 events will be held over the four-day run, including ten themed business matching sessions, site visits and industry forums. Through an “exhibition + matching + site visit” model, the events aim to convert more co-operation intentions into concrete outcomes, attract quality projects to Macao, and give full play to attracting investment through exhibitions.
Expanding the international economic and trade network and empowering practical co-operation with Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries
To deepen practical co-operation with Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries and expand into Latin American and Spanish-speaking markets, this year’s three exhibitions will further broaden their international economic and trade network and actively leverage Macao’s platform role. Building on the participation of exhibitors from nine Portuguese-speaking countries at 2026PLPEX, the 31st MIF will add a “Spanish-Speaking Countries Industry Pavilion”, bringing in nearly 30 enterprises and organisations from 11 Spanish-speaking countries including Spain, Argentina, Uruguay and Colombia. Supporting events will include a Spanish-speaking countries business opportunities and co-operation forum, a Portuguese-speaking countries coffee bean selection awards ceremony, G100 Portuguese-speaking countries potential wine list selection, and dedicated business matching sessions, building an international co-operation platform linking Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking markets and opening more trade and investment channels for Macao enterprises and international partners.
Diverse exhibition highlights aligned with Macao’s “1+4” industrial development
The exhibitions will present a wide range of featured products and innovative technologies, including AI exhibits such as a humanoid robot open platform, an AI scent generator, an exoskeleton robot, an AI management assistant and a glasses-free 3D instant photo printing tool. Featured products will also include award-winning specialty coffee from Brazil, Iberian ham from Spain, high-end home products from Singapore, century-old confectionery from Austria, and internationally known ride-on suitcases, bringing together industry leaders and leading brands from the Chinese mainland, Southeast Asia, and Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries. Multiple site visits will also be arranged, covering themes such as “one exhibition, two places”, first stores and district visits, allowing visitors from home and abroad to experience first-hand the business environment and development potential of Macao and Hengqin.
A rich on-site programme for an immersive experience of the three exhibitions
The first day of the three exhibitions (21 October) will be a trade visitor day, with the following three days (22 to 24 October) open to the public free of charge. More than 20,000 attractive gifts have been prepared. On-site programmes will be rich and varied: visitors can interact with a range of AI innovations, experience products and cultures from Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries, taste specialty coffee and take part in workshops, and learn about IP brands and new consumption trends. They can also explore the halls with a themed check-in map and redeem featured products for an immersive experience. To facilitate travel for residents and visitors, four shuttle bus routes will be arranged to and from the venue. All sectors of the community are welcome to attend.
Guests attending the press conference included IPIM President Sio Weng Keong; Wu Xueqi, President of the Macau Chain Stores & Franchise Association, and Au Ka Ian, Secretary-General of the Macau International Brand Enterprises Association, co-organisers of 2026MFE; Ho Hoi Meng, project co-ordinator for the 31st MIF and 2026PLPEX; and Choi Man, project co-ordinator for 2026MFE.
